The Story behind " Opus Instrumentalus 2: Vibrations "

The 2nd album in the "Opus" series, Vibrations, is a mix of dance, electronic, house, and other instrumental pieces that have very little if any vocal work at all in them.
Vibrations also houses a blend of upbeat and aggressive to the near-ambient feeling and low-key mixes that won't get in your face too much!
Reviews of " Opus Instrumentalus 2: Vibrations "
· Excellent! ·
This is definitely worth a listen. Several tracks are very impressive, like "Rising Up", which exhibits a creative mix of sampling with techno styling. Each track is a unique exploration; in short, Trance Blackman has some serious talent. The mastering quality and clarity are also better than some commercial records that I've heard. I would also highly recommend the "Opus Instrumentalus: Movie Musica" album.

Since I'm a games programmer I'm reviewing this album from the POV of its inclusion in a game. This is one well made soundtrack, lots of good background themes that are perfectly suited to games.
1) Rising up
Deep powerful into music, suits the album (I all around the world... and I am free!). Would be the ideal title theme for a game about an AI taking over the world - Wintermute, Ghost in the Shell, Deus Ex, etc.
2) Genuine article
Generic grungey electronic title music. war/action game perhaps? usable for almost anything.
3) Flawless
Has vocals, nice melody... Pop track from the late 90s perhaps? :-D Can't think of any game use, apart from if you happen to be walking past a radio.
4) Trance Sends
Reasonably fast, uplifting, has panpipes. Ideal for a 2D platformer or a racing game, or as the happy scoreboard/post game music.
5) Determined
Dark and electronic. The kind of track you'd expect to hear while exploring an alien base, or kitting out your mech warrior before you go on a killing spree.
6) Juggler
Slow, eery and generic. The kind of spooky sound you'd hear after sneaking in through an open window, or flying through an unknown star system in a space game.
7) Listen
Kind of insane feel, end of level baddie music suits it best I think.
8) Traveler
Futuristic ambient house track. Puzzle game, wondering round collecting stuff, that sort of thing.
9) Blue Sky and Rain
Good generic/puzzle music. If track 8 was background music for a beginners level in a puzzle game this would be medium.
10) Walking
Good in-game happy action/puzzle music. generic, but would go nicely with the previous two tracks in a puzzle game... though for some reason I imagine crash bandicoot jogging down a tunnel at a leisurely pace (ie without a large boulder following closely behind)
11) Enchanted
Perfect 'the end' piano music... So you saved the world/princess, you get your pat on the back, the sun sets and the credits roll. Hopefully brings tears to the players eyes :-)

· Very Good! =D ·
This collection is very good! Some of these songs will definetly be turned on my next party. It might be good to use a little less pads and more leads. But definetly worth the download Dance fans!

I've only listened to the first track so far - I have to say that I am VERY impressed with this work. I'm downloading the rest of the collection as we speak... If you're into a good beat/rhythm, I'd recommend you check this out..

· Well! ·
Really interesting works. How much time you spend on each project. As it was said, it's sounds like a soundtrack. You can ear it walking along a river, and surround yourself as in a story.

· A very good disk ·
There is very good the quality of this music. The third song is the whole hit and performs the best thing to that I have listened lately in this style of music. The lp, in general, is very good. Five stars :-)
